Sound in a small room
Bruce Webster’s atmospheric original score for “Romeo and Juliet” was a remarkable blend of tracked material and live instruments, underscoring scenes and transitions. This ambitious and successful effort, rarely attempted by most theaters, perfectly fit the director’s 1920’s concept. The music enhanced the emotional arc of each scene, adding a cinematic feel and unique fluidity without distracting from the dialogue.
